Stepping into a new international position at the (ESCWA)
Stepping into a new international position at the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA), I want to share what it represents and its role in the region today.
From economic and social development, including: human development, macroeconomic policy (fiscal, monetary and debt management), trade & regional connectivity, financing for development to regional cooperation, UN ESCWA provides country level technical support and regional policy advice.
As 1 of the 5 United Nations Regional Commissions around the world, the UN ESCWA serves 21 Member States, each with its own initial conditions, yet all navigating shared economic, social & geopolitical challenges. Swipe for more information ➡️
At a time of growing uncertainty, the focus is ultimately on delivering real impact for the people in Member States. For that I look forward to the work ahead, especially to designing narratives on comprehensive development that can lead to more resilience and sustainable positive change.
